High School Musical Workshop
School holidays and what do you do with the children. Well quite a few parents were lucky because on Monday July 27th they sent them to the Yeovil Dancentre for the day where they learnt moves and dances from High School Musical, Hannah Montana, as well as doing some Strictly Come Dancing moves. During the day the children were split into groups with an appointed team leader and as well as dances they took part in a number of games. The dance centre was beautifully done up with posters and during the breaks or when the children were tired they were able to watch a High School Musical on one of the TV screens in the dance centre. All their parents (and children) are looking forward to the next workshop which will be in the October half term.

United Kingdom Alliance Premier Dance Festival

At the recent UKA National Medallists weekend held at the world famous Winter Gardens in Blackpool members of the Allen School of Dance - based at the Yeovil Dancentre on Pen Mill Trading Estate in Yeovil - achieved the following results:
34 1st places
21 2nd places
18 3rd places
and many more finalists.
The event was the largest ever held by the UKA and there were over 2000 entries from all over the country (including Scotland, Wales and Ireland as well as the rest of England).
It is a great credit to Yeovil and the Allen School of Dance that a small town like Yeovil can produce the most succesful dance school at a National Event the size of this.
